Moffett field air tragedy of 1973

On Thursday, April 12, 1973, a Navy P-3C Orion and a Convair 990 operated by NASA collided on approach to Moffett Field in Sunnyvale, California.   Both planes lost control and crashed onto the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course below, killing 16 of 17 people aboard the two aircraft. This is the story of the sole survivor, Bruce Mallibert.
